The highlight of this 11-day journey (with 7 days of cycling) is the legendary Khongoriin Els, the “Singing Dunes” of the southern Gobi. Covering 345 km by bike, this fully supported trip includes professional guides, vehicle backup, nutritious meals, and comfortable camps with hot showers and toilets.

Arrival in Ulaanbaatar. Meet your guide at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Visit Sukhbaatar Square and the National Museum of Mongolia, then enjoy a traditional folklore concert in the evening.
Morning flight to Dalanzadgad in the Gobi Desert. Meet the support team and drive to Lammergier Canyon (Yoliin Am), a stunning gorge where ice remains even in summer. Spot wild goats, visit the small natural history museum, and enjoy a warm-up ride across the Shavartai Valley.
Mountain biking to Gegeet Valley across the Gurvan Saikhan Range. Ride through desert winds, short climbs, thrilling downhills, and sandy flats. Pass nomadic camps and herds of goats and horses before camping under a star-filled desert sky.
Cycle through the Dund Saikhan Mountains, where the dramatic shapes of the Gobi landscape unfold around you — rocky ridges, wide valleys, and endless horizons. The route offers a mix of gentle climbs and flowing descents, with opportunities to spot black-tailed gazelles and ibex darting across the trail. Set up camp in a peaceful valley surrounded by the silence of the desert.
Cycle to Khongoriin Els, Mongolia’s largest sand dunes, stretching over 180 km and rising up to 200 meters. Enjoy the contrast of golden dunes against the rugged desert mountains. In the evening, climb the dunes to watch the sunset over the vast Gobi and enjoy dinner on the open terrace of the ger camp restaurant.
Take a relaxing day at the Khongoriin Els dunes. You may choose to ride a two-humped camel, hike along the dunes, or enjoy a short cycling trip around the area. Spend the afternoon resting and soaking in the peaceful desert scenery.
Ride north through the Khaltar Zag saxual forest, a rare desert woodland that thrives in the arid Gobi environment. Continue across wide open steppe as the landscape gradually transforms into a new natural zone. Set up camp amid the untouched wilderness and enjoy the serenity of the desert night.
Bike to Tevsh, an extinct volcano that shelters Bronze Age petroglyphs and ancient burial mounds. Explore fascinating Neolithic rock art before continuing another 20 km to the campsite, surrounded by steppe and desert landscapes.
Drive to the Mongol Els sand dunes, a beautiful green oasis where the desert meets the steppe. Experience the contrast of grasslands and golden sands, and stay with a local nomadic family to enjoy genuine Mongolian hospitality and a glimpse into traditional herder life.
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar, enjoying the final views of Mongolia’s vast steppe along the way. In the afternoon, visit the Gobi Cashmere shop for high-quality Mongolian products. Celebrate the end of your adventure with a farewell dinner in the evening.
