Mongolia Expeditions Mountain Biking Tours-- one of the best trips ever!!!
I recently returned from a mountain biking trip with Mongolia Expeditions (Selenge Mountain Biking Tour). To say it was perfect is an understatement. First, the country: Mongolia is a stunningly beautiful, special place with highly varied terrain and landscapes. We touched only a small part of it, but were overwhelmed at its beauty. Also, the Mongolian people are so kind and generous. We spent time with families in their gers, witnessing their semi-nomadic life, which is such a cultural contrast to my own. The trip logistics were seamless, and we loved, loved, loved our team of guides, drivers and, of course, our amazing cook who made magic happen three meals a day! The tour itself was consistent with the description -- important when one is considering the relatively technicality of a mountain biking trip. The views were endless, the quiet deafening, and the wildflowers and animals and rivers (!) so nourishing. Just what this American needed. I can't recommend Mongolia and Mongolia Expeditions highly enough. From the initial point of contact through the drop off at the airport, Mongolia Expeditions staff were consummate professionals and just amazing and wonderful people. Oh, and by the way, Mongolia Expeditions is a Mongolian owned- and operated- company, so your tourist dollars go directly to support the local economy.
“Khuiten expedition. Amazing time. I had the best time with Mongolia Expeditions. Spent 12 days between UB and Khuiten, in Russian heels, backpacking, camels taking our equipment, Russian airplanes, airports without lights, crossing rivers and getting stuck .. a true adventure, not for everyone but certainly amazing.
The crew was fantastic. The food simply amazing. Would do it again anytime. The country is the most fascinating. I truly enjoyed the culture and the traditions. Got to hold a golden eagle, sleep on a glaciar and climb a mountain in the border of Mongolia, Russia and China. What else could I ask for?! The stories will be told for a very long time. Pricing is the best money for value, and you are helping a local company. Wouldn't go with anyone else.
