Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, meet your local guide and transfer to your centrally located hotel. In the evening, enjoy a traditional folklore concert featuring throat singing, long song, and horsehead fiddle performances—an inspiring introduction to Mongolia’s rich culture. Afterwards, gather with your group for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

After breakfast, enjoy a city sightseeing tour beginning at Sukhbaatar Square, the lively central plaza surrounded by government buildings and the grand statue of Genghis Khan. Continue to the Choijin Lama Temple Museum, a beautifully preserved monastery complex displaying fine examples of Buddhist art and sculpture. Visit the History Museum, offering an excellent overview of Mongolia’s past—from ancient nomadic empires and the rise of Genghis Khan to the modern democratic era. In the evening, board the overnight train to Erdenet, heading north across vast grasslands.

Upon arrival in Erdenet, our tour team will meet you at the train station and transfer you to the starting point of your cycling journey. Enjoy breakfast atop a scenic hill with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains before beginning your first ride. Today’s route covers about 50 km, crossing wide open valleys toward Bugat village. The trail passes through beautiful Siberian-style larch forests and ascends the Chuluut Pass (1,642 m). After the rewarding climb and descent, we set up our camp at the foot of the pass, surrounded by peaceful mountain scenery.

We start the day with a refreshing ride through meadows and larch-birch forests, climbing steadily to a 400 m rocky pass. After cycling the first 20 km, we stop for tea before loading the bikes onto the support vehicle and driving 25 km to Tulu Pass, avoiding the main highway for safety reasons. From the top of the pass, we resume biking and ride another 40 km through wide valleys where herds of horses and livestock graze freely. Along the way, we meet friendly nomads, taste traditional milk tea and dairy products, and enjoy the peaceful steppe scenery. In the evening, we camp at the base of a forested hillside.

Today we ride 75 km through rolling hills, passes, and wide steppe valleys dotted with nomadic summer camps and herds of livestock. Our destination is Gun Lake, located in the scenic Khunui River Valley, an area rich in ancient history with burial mounds and deer stones scattered across the land. Along the way, we’ll meet local herders tending their sheep and goats, offering a wonderful chance to learn about their traditional lifestyle and the rhythms of nomadic life.

Today marks the longest cycling day of the journey. We ride through the Khunui River Valley, home to ancient Bronze Age monuments and beautifully carved deer stones. The first 40 km feature a gentle 350 m climb to the 1,828 m pass, followed by a long and rewarding descent. Continuing toward the Tamir River Valley, we pass through Ikh Tamir village, where you can take a short rest and meet friendly locals before reaching our camp near the 90 km point, surrounded by peaceful steppe landscapes.

After breakfast, we load our bikes onto the support vehicle and drive to Tsetserleg town, the provincial capital. From here, we begin cycling 35 km through rolling hills and scenic valleys to reach the Tsenkher Hot Springs, a lush valley famous for its natural mineral pools. Upon arrival, relax and unwind in the warm waters, enjoy a soothing massage, and take time to rest and recover after the long rides of previous days.

Today is the toughest cycling day of the trip. After breakfast, start your climb toward the first pass — a steep ascent that demands steady effort. Descend carefully, controlling your speed. We’ll tackle four climbs and cross three rivers before reaching the scenic Orkhon River Valley. Yaks and horses graze along the route, adding to the wild beauty. From the last summit, enjoy sweeping views before the long 20 km descent. Our campsite by the Orkhon River.

Our final ride takes us to Karakorum, the ancient 13th-century capital of Mongolia. Visit the Erdene Zuu Monastery with its 108 stupas, explore the Karakorum Museum, and browse the local souvenir market. End the journey at the ger camp, relax with a shower, and enjoy a well-earned dinner.

After breakfast, we drive back to Ulaanbaatar, enjoying Mongolia’s vast steppe scenery along the way. A picnic lunch will be served en route. Arriving by mid-afternoon, check into your hotel, freshen up, and relax. In the evening, join your guide for a farewell dinner to celebrate the end of an unforgettable cycling adventure.
